Site Information

Love Train was put online September, 2008. I have been wanting to make a site on Mariska ever since I became a fan of her a few years ago and I am so happy to now be sharing my admiration for this amazing woman with other fans.

I decided on the name Love Train as at Mariska’s official site she uses the term to describe an ‘positive feeling and movement’. I wanted to give the site a name that was something that was closely connected to Mariska and I felt this fit.

Through this site I want to share my admiration, appreciation for Mariska with other fans. I hope visitors will be able to learn something about this amazing woman and the work that she does and maybe even introduce new fans to her.

Why are you a fan: In February, 2005 I was on a discussion forum and a member asked which lesser known actresses people liked. Somebody replied with Mariska Hargitay. I knew of her from SVU but something told me to Google her to learn more. I was surprised and impressed with what I learned. I had absolutely no idea that Mariska campaigned for more awareness to the issue of sexual abuse nor that she runs a non-profit organisation to help sex abuse victims and survivors.

I was soon in awe of this woman. Her genuine interest, knowledge and compassion in the matter really moved me. She chooses to bring light onto a topic that while common in society, isn’t openly discussed at large in the community. I adore her for that.

I also love that fact that she has such a glamorous family history. I respect the fact that Mariska has been determined her whole life to be known as her own person but also paying homage to her heritage.
